Le Terrible is a Triomphant class strategic nuclear submarine of the French Navy. She was launched on 21 March 2008 [1]

On 27 January 2010, at 9h25, Terrible launched a M51 from underwater, in Audierne Bay[2]. The missile reached its target 2000 kilometres off North Carolina; the 4500 kilometre flight took about 20 minutes [3].
