The second Muskegon (YTB‑763) was laid down in February 1962 by the Southern Shipbuilding Corp., Slidell, La.; launched in August 1962; and completed in April 1963 for assignment as a yard tug in the 11th Naval District at San Diego. Into 1969, she continues in this small but significant duty.
