AWM Caption: SYDNEY, NSW. PORT SIDE VIEW OF THE AUXILIARY MINELAYER HMAS BUNGAREE. THE SHIP IS ARMED WITH A 12 POUNDER AA GUN FORWARD AND TWO 4 INCH GUNS AFT WITH THE HALF SHIELDS ORIGINALLLY MOUNTED ON THEM REMOVED. SINGLE 20 MM OERLIKON AA GUNS ARE MOUNTED PORT AND STARBOARD NEAR THE FOREMAST, IN THE BRIDGE WINGS (WHERE THERE ARE NOW FOUR, RATHER THAN THE ORIGINAL TWO) AND IN THE WAIST. SINGLE 2 POUNDER AA GUNS ARE MOUNTED ON EITHER SIDE OF THE THIRD MAST. A TYPE 271 RADAR HAS BEEN FITTED AT THE BACK OF THE BRIDGE WHICH HAS PROTECTIVE PLATING ON ITS FACE. THE SHIP IS NOW PAINTED IN A TWO TONE CAMOUFLAGE SCHEME IN PLACE OF THE ALL OVER GREY PREVIOUSLY WORN. NOTE THE LANDING SHIP INFANTRY HMAS WESTRALIA IN THE RIGHT BACKGROUND.
