Description

In 1927 the Adelaide Steamship Company ordered a new 9,119 GRT liner to be built by William Beardmore & Co, Dalmuir Scotland. The TSMV Manunda was built and commenced her duties in 1929. She was the largest ship the company had ever operated and accommodated 176 First Class and 136 Second Class Passengers and sailed at a comfortable service speed of 15 knots.
