HMS Cumberland was a 29 ton schooner built in Port Jackson,Australia, and purchased in 1803 to convey Matthew Flinders to England. However the poor condition of the vessel forced him to put into French-controlled Mauritius, where he and the ship were interred. It remained there when Flinders was released in 1810.
