INS Chennai is a 163-metre long Guided missile destroyer and the third of the Kolkata class destroyers (Project 15 Alpha) of the Indian Navy. The destroyer is the third and last of the Kolkata class warships.it is named after the southern port city of Chennai;it will be the first naval ship named after Chennai.[1]
