M/F Maersk Anglia is a ro-ro ferry owned and operated by Norfolkline, usually on the Dublin - Heysham route.[1] She sails under the flag of the Netherlands. She is the second ship to carry the name Maersk Anglia, the first being the 1977 built Admiral Nigeria, renamed Maersk Anglia in 1990. In 2000 when the new Maersk Anglia was delivered, the old Maersk Anglia was renamed Maersk Kent. Shortly afterwards she was acquired by Strait Shipping, New Zealand and renamed Kent.[2]

History

Maersk Anglia was built by Guang Zhou shipyard, China in 2000 at the same time as the Maersk Flanders.[3] The first two ships of this class, Maersk Importer and Maersk Exporter were built at MIHO Shimizu ship yard in Japan in 1996.[4]
