New Roads – St. Francisville Ferry
From SpottingWorld, the Hub for the SpottingWorld network...
The New Roads-St. Francisville Ferry carries Louisiana Highway 10 across the Mississippi River between New Roads and St. Francisville, Louisiana, United States. Unlike its downriver counterparts—The Plaquemine, White Castle, and Reserve ferries—The New Roads-St. Francisville ferry is typically quite reliable and sees relatively few closures.[citation needed]
Its replacement, the John James Audubon Bridge, is currently in the early phases of construction and will be a cable-stayed bridge similar to the Luling Bridge downriver in St. Charles Parish. It is to be the longest cable stayed bridge in North America
