The New Century 2 is among the world's largest car carrier vessels[1]. It features a cleaner-burning engine, an advanced propeller and stator fin design and solar-powered lighting that enables the ship to travel at a service speed of 20 knots while using 16 percent less fuel than the previous generation of car carriers. The vessel is able to hold 6,000 sub-compact automobiles.
It is the sister ship of the New Century 1.
