SMS Thetis was a frigate, formerly the 36-gun fifth rate HMS Thetis of the Royal Navy. She was acquired by the Prussian navy on 12 January 1855, and was then passed on to the North German Confederation's navy, and later served in the Kaiserliche Marine of the German Empire. She was removed from the list of warships on 28 November 1871. The internal equipment was removed, and she was eventually scrapped in 1894. Her sister ship was the SMS Niobe.[1]
