SS Empire Rest
Empire Rest was originally laid down as the Castle class corvette HMS Rayleigh Castle but completed as a convoy rescue ship. She was owned by the Ministry of War Transport and operated by Ellerman City Line. She entered service in 1944 and was scrapped in 1952.
She was originally laid down as a Royal Navy Castle-class corvette, Rayleigh Castle, pennant number K695, but was renamed and converted before completion. Rayleigh Castle was in Rayleigh, England.
