The Scandinavian Cruiser 20[1] is a performance sailing dinghy also suitable for day sailing. The SC20 accommodates up to two adults but can also be single handed.
Design
The Scandinavian Cruiser 20 is designed by Eric W. Sponberg and is a modern day interpretation of the classical Skerry Cruisers from yesteryear. The SC20 features a carbon rudder, lifting keel and a carbon semi-unstayed rotating wing mast. The sails include a furling asymmetrical spinnaker, furling self-tacking jib with vertical battens, and full battened main. The hull and deck are constructed in E-glass, VE resin and Navicell core composite.
Scandinavian Cruisers was founded by Nis Peter Lorentzen. Nis is a third generation boat builder from Bandholm Boats in Denmark, but he has lived and worked in China and the United States for the past 25 years, and therefore delayed his re-entry into the boat business until 2007 when he purchased, and had restored, a 1954 Skerry Cruiser. This marked the beginning of the Scandinavian Cruisers company.
