USS Nashua (YTB-774) was laid down 27 August 1964 by Marinette Marine Corp., Marinette, Wisconsin; launched 11 May 1965; placed in service without ceremony in June, and assigned to the Naval Station, Subic Bay, Philippines for duty.
Nashua has continued to serve the fleet at Subic Bay into 1970. In addition to providing assistance to other naval ships and craft during berthing and docking evolutions, she also renders towing and waterfront fire protection services. Nashua is likewise available to serve as an inner harbor patrol craft and to render assistance in emergency and disaster situations.
