The third Saco (YTB-796) was laid down on 12 January 1968 by the Marinette Marine Corp., Marinette, Wisconsin.; launched on 3 July 1968; placed in service on 14 September 1968; and assigned to the Naval Station, Guam. She serves there until reassignment to the Naval Station at Long Beach, California, where she served until her decommissioning in 2005.
