The second Wenatchee (YTB-808), a large harbor tug, was laid down on 24 November 1969 at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, by Pedersen Builders, Inc.; launched on 7 July 1970; and placed in service on Christmas Day 1970.
The tug was assigned to the 11th Naval District and, since going into service, has operated at San Diego, Calif. As of 2010, she was still active at Bremerton, Washington.
